Job Title: Reinsurance Accountant Location: Sarasota, FL (On-site) Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 Our client is a growing insurance organization with a strong presence across the U.S. They are seeking a Reinsurance Accountant to join their team at their Sarasota headquarters. This is a high-impact role that provides exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional departments. Why take this role: Join a stable, well-established insurance carrier with a strong track record in the Florida market Work closely with senior finance and actuarial leadership Opportunity to grow within the accounting and finance team in a dynamic industry Competitive compensation, benefits, and bonus structure Overview of the role: Perform accounting, reconciliation, and reporting for ceded reinsurance programs Prepare and analyze reinsurance journal entries, statements, and bordereaux Coordinate with actuarial, claims, and underwriting departments to ensure accurate data flow Assist with reinsurance recoverable analysis, billing, and collections Maintain compliance with statutory and GAAP accounting standards for reinsurance Support audit requests and regulatory reporting related to reinsurance Participate in projects related to new reinsurance treaties, system upgrades, or process improvements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-5 years of experience in reinsurance or insurance accounting (ceded experience preferred) Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles Proficiency in Excel; experience with reinsurance systems a plus Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
